Matching Tempos In Acid

hi there people.i have just set up my home studio(well a pc!lol)
basically,i want to be able to mix tracks together(in the sense that they beat match-so it sounds like one track i.e what djs do)
iam in the middle of doing a remix-but i have no idea of how to mix them/match the beats..can anyone help me on how to do this? i tried the pitch but that makes them sound like chipmunks! and the tempo only changes the master output i.e all the tracks.
i have acid 1.0 (i know its crappy!) and im very new to this whole music computer thing
thanks alot!

I don't know what 1.0 has available as far as options but it sounds like you need the beatmapper/tempo functions that are in the latest versions.
I started with Music 3.0 and it has the stuff that may help.
It is VERY cheap and can be bought on ebay, or even Best Buy.

Cool here's one solution

let me know if this helps

import the main track that everything is to synch with.
import one more track only
go to the main track right click on the box containing the track number
go to properties
change track type from what ever the default is to beatmapped, then take note of how many bpm's it is, now change it to one shot
go to the next track and make sure it's on beatmapped. i avoid selecting beatmapped at start up because i feel more comfortable doing it this way.
now adjust the tempo at the bottom of acid to match the main tracks bpm's
mute the main track
go to tools, select render to new track, name it render it
delete track it was cloned from
you should now have the main track, and the second track that was rendered to it's tempo
change that track to one shot if it's on beatmapped by default
import the next track and start the process over

this was one of my greatest discoveries in acid. i was just experimenting and just happened to uncover one of it's many capabilities. there may be an easier way, but this is the only way i know of.
