Question Tascam Or Cd Player

"TASCAM MD-301 MKII - MINI DISK RECORDER or 6 STACKER CD PLAYER???"

I'm doing duo work and was told that mini-disk is the way to go, we've currently been using a 6 stacker CD Player and it's been great. I've been to the following site: http://www.tascam.com/products/minid...mkii/index.php to checkout this player. I read the attached manual (23 pages) and was not impressed. A lot of hipe but no comparison to what I can already do with the 6 stacker CD Player.

MY QUESTIONS ARE:
Is it rugged enough for stage work?
Can I randomly choose a song within a few seconds?
Can you program your next set (eg: 10 songs)?
How many songs can a mini-disk hold?
Will it skip if there's any jumping around on stage?

ALTERNATIVE:
TASCAM MINI-DISK VERSES MP3 PLAYERS
As you can store hundreds of songs on one CD of MP3 format, what would be the best? I have another muso mate that uses MP3 files on stage and he swears by it. What do you think?

Doesn't anyone want to comment?
