track splitting

ok i just know after time and time wasted looking for this there is going to be a simple solution, its just typical. n e way all i want is a program that can split 1 audio tracks into however many i want. when i had windows 98 i just right clicked on the song and chose extract then a window would pop up and then i could go frome there. now i have win xp pro and it doesnt have that option. (or atleast i cant find it) thats all i want no recorders or other bells n whistles and complicated stuff, just a easy to use program fer spliting them up. maybe somthing that i just play the song pause it where i want the track 2 to begin then press another button to do it. then proceed playing then so on. i just might have already tryed tons of programs that could do that its just it is immposible to know how to do it or folow the instructions fer that matter.i listen to hard house music (techno fur the people that hate it) and i have several live full sets but i dont want to have to hold down a button to listen to a song i like 8,9,14 or even 50min threw. thats the reason im inquireing about somthing to splitit up, make life and music enjoyable not a waste of time. (ooops i let go of the ff button at 44min 35 sec and i wanted to get to my fave song at 45min 34sec) thank you fer reading this short story. zig
