Question

I have a SB platinum and I'm using the midi ports on it with my Cakewalk home studio 9. My problem hapens when I'm trying to record a track from my Roland GR-30 or XP-60. The sound that plays back off cakewalk sounds nothing like what I played. The tone and the pitch are all different and I can't just get What I play to sound the same. Can you tell me Why?

First off, do you have the Rolands daisychained to the SBLive? Second, how are your MIDI Rx Channels set up on the Rolands?

I don't know, but you may be able to find instrument definitions for these devices, and that may help with some of the problem. Under Instrument Definitions in CW what settings do you have listed?

Lastly, I would avoid using the MIDI I/O on the SB. Check out a MIDI interface such as by MIDIMAN. They have models that interface with USB or serial port connections and will solve the daisychain.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck.

I don't have them daisy chained. And I have a midi man that I got for my labtop that I can try. But, are there any defalt settings in cw that automaticly change the pitch or tone?
