Audio time lag

Does anyone have this problem? This is Sonar 2, incidentally.

I have a guitar/bass plugged directly into the PC's soundcard and have the audio set to monitor what I'm playing along with.

Now...all is well and dandy - I can hear the previously recorded track and can hear what I'm playing live, but there is a short time lag between my live playing and the monitored signal coming out of the PC's speakers.

Any clues, anyone?

Welcome to the wonderful world of latency. You need to reduce your latency setting, or turn off Input Monitoring.
