AKG 240M Headphones - 600 ohm...

Back when I was starting to collect gear, I purchased a set of AKG240M's. I didn't realize at the time that the 600 ohm impedance would result in low volume level problems with the gear I have, which ordinarily seems to be happy with 35-55 ohm headphones. I would really like to be able to use the 240's. Can an impedance matching transformer be used (or practical) to match the impedance or would a headphone amp be a better choice ?
