Question Doing 16-ch simultaneous records with VF160

Anyone doing full 16-ch records with the VF160? If so, what set-up are you using?

I've looked at the VC-8 but it does not have gain controls for the inputs. That means I'll need an 8-ch mixer or 8-ch pre-amp to front end it.

I've also looked at the Graham Patten ADAT-1. It looks like a possible solution in one box but I can't find any pricing on it or a near by dealer.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Please excuse if this question shows up twice. The first attempt to post hurled.

I have the VM88 digital mixer connected to my VF16 and this combination gives me 6 mic/line level inputs with XLR & phantom, 6 mic/line level inputs with unbalanced 1/4" jacks and 2 line level stereo inputs for total of 16 channels.

The Graham Patten ADAT-1 don't seem to have mic pres so it's probably not what you're looking for. The Presonus Digimax LT is more like it and costs about $800. As you already have the VC-8 you need only a 8-channel mic preamp like the SM PR-8 by SM Pro audio ($199 @musiciansfriend.com).
