mr8 noise..help....

Hi, I bought an mr8 and it is great.... except.... the noise in the headphones are too much and every 2nd or 3rd time that I power it up I get a fluttering in the right side of the phones. Can anyone help?

Hi JH,

I also hear a hissing sound on my MR-8. The hissing sound is more pronounced when you select any one of the mastering effects keys (eg "Powerful", "Bright" or "Natural"). The good thing is that the hissing sound is not very noticeable when mixed down.

With respect to the fluttering noise on one side of the headphone, I have not encountered that yet.

Please email Fostex support about this. Several users have experienced headphone noise/distortion that goes away when restarting the unit. Unfortunately Fostex is in that "no one else reported this problem" mode and need to hear from everyone who experiences this so they take some action.

I noticed that when I turned the volume down on the headphone
jacket the noice disappeared.

I had the same problem, and I emailed Fostex, but no reply so far. I agree with mrx, email Fostex. Let them know it's not just a single unit, but many.
