Some new pics of my Basement Studio

Please let me know your thoughts. I'm going to be doing a bit of a redesign soon but it's pretty much where I need it.

Thanx, Johnny

Talking Thanx.

I designed it and a former Studio client built it for me. We traded studio time for the furniture.

Thanx again, Johnny

My thoughts on V-drums-

A cool idea, especially in situations where acoustic drums would not be appropriate (small apartment with crotchety neighbors), but in my oppinion, nothing beats an acoustic drumset. I'm not saying that electronic drums are stupid or amateur or anything like that, I just don't prefer them. They are fun to mess around with though, esp. the goofy settings like the "one man band" kit that comes with a Roland V-club. Hahah. Anyways, just my oppinion.

nice studio setup! I'd luv to be creative in this atmosphere! What's the flashlight for in the foreground?? Is it that dark in your studio that you need it? ;-)

Where'd you get the rack shelves? Did you build them yourself? Last week I wanted to save some money, went to the Home Depot, bought oak boards, glue, nails, paint, etc, and finally ended up paying 75 buxx for a simpe 19' rack.

Thanx Nine13.

I have my songs up at www.mp3.com/johnny_geib

Check them out. I wrote, played and recorded all of it. Let me know what you think.

Giganova,

I designed the custom racks and desk and a former client traded the construction of it for $1000 studio time.

I think I got the better end of that deal

I had a v-drum kit for 2 years, and got so fed up with it and its less than realistic sounds that I came to my senses and sold it and bought Clavia's ddrum kit.

I don't mean to offend, but v's are more like toys next to the ddrum kit. I have fooled more people (because that's what I like to do) in thinking that the drums I've recorded were "real"

The ddrums are truly amazing, especially once you load them up with a few of the signature kits you can download from clavia's site.

Leeking will become famous soon enough
man, cool setup and atmosphere...!

one small complain may be the monitor placement... well, it's not exactly in the standard at-least-4-feet apart triangle placement.

but, hey! if it works for you....
