Question HS2002 Startup Error Message

Hi there you Walkers of Cake,

I'm trying HS2002 with VSampler3 Beta 3a right now. I'm getting an error message on startup that is not related to VS3:

"The following driver(s) either do not support the current audio format, or are in use by another application.

"Please choose whether your (sic) want to disable them or use them anyway".

In the box below the message it shows:
EWX 24/96 WaveRec Mixer.

Now my question is: Why? Why doesn't the EWX 24/96 WaveRec Mixer support the current audio format (which is what precisesly?)

And it's NOT in use by another application. I don't have anything else running.

HS2002 only supports 24bit/48Khz audio - not 96Khz. Check your card's control panel settings.

Cool Start Me Up...

Hi Brzilian,

I'm sorry, I don't know the Portugese equivalent of Happy Christmas! Will you settle for Froelich Weinachten instead?

The Master Clock rate is set at 44.1kHz on the audio cards's control panel.

There is a button that locks the Sample Rate - but this is not activated. It prevents or permits software to change the hardware frequency. Currently it is allowing it to be changed by software.

There are no controls that relate specifically to the EWX 24/96 WaveRec Mixer.

In HS2002/Options/Audio Options,
The Playback Wave device can be chosen from:
-None-
1: EWX 24/96 Wave Analog
2: EWX 24/96 Wave S/PDIF

The record Wave Device can be chosen from:
1: EWX 24/96 Wave Analog
2: EWX 24/96 Wave S/PDIF
3: EWX 24/96 WaveRec Mixer

In HS2002, the sampling rate is 44.1kHz and File Bit Depth is set to 16.

This error message disappears if I disable EWX 24/96 WaveRec Mixer. I have a suspicion that EWX 24/96 WaveRec Mixer is for recording only - not for playback. Unfortunately the documentation is not to clear in that respect - although I'll read through it again.

Thanks for your interest.
