syncing a VS880VX with MT Pro sequencing software (via MTC)

ok, hello group and Happy Holidays. This may be a FAQ, but I am having a major latency problem when syncing my 880VX (master) to my sequencer. Here's the deal:
1. Followed directions in VS880VX Owners Manual to sync the VX to the computer sequencer

2. Sync'd no problem

3. Tested with a pre-recorded 32 measure drum sequence
Problem: Sequencer did not play the drum machine until measure number 73, but the 880 sync'd up with the sequencer fine...

Did I miss something?
