Jeff Marcomb...your CD is killer!!!

thanks so much for sending it. I have been listening to it over and over and over and over again. The more I listen, the more I like it. There were a couple of things that I didn't necessarily like on some of the songs when you first posted them here, but as I listen again and again, you made the right decision, and what I would have choosen probably would not have been appropriate. I look at some of the drum sounds, as an example, as that is what the artist (YOU!!) actually wanted, and it all now just seems to fit great. The song order is good, the graphics...

this CD is laying next to my computer, and gets repeated plays as I surf here, there...

thanks man... mucho appreciato

you're one talented mutha

Thanks alot mix for posting this nice message
you are one of the toughest on critiquing, so I take that as a great compliment
I remember asking you how to mix drums properly like 10? months ago and you
gave me some great ideas on how the mix should work.-- I know I still have robot drums--
Well, I just sent the CD off to somebody I know that owns a good label and he said
he would get back with me on business advice once he listens to it. Id rather be
recording than wearing my business cap, but I think its important to keep a good
business sense because thats 90% of music now adays.... unfortunately.

You guys are all super cool for supporting the little fish in this vast sea. Thanks a Bunch as always!!!!

I will hesitantly say this, as I like the product so much. First off, I agree about the business stuff. Getting some good advice will never hurt, but better yet...find someone who wears a smarter business cap than you, and I think that might be part of the "secret."

The one negative that hits me...(actually two) on the CD, however is/are... 1. this CD could use some mastering to make the songs flow better from one to another. The EQ seems to differ slightly from song to song, and the amount of "punch" slightly also. Individually, I think they are actually fine, but together, you notice it a bit more. Whether a good mastering job could help that, would be nice to know and have done if you were more serious about this as a "final" work. Also, playing a bit with the times between songs and adding a little more space between a couple of them (like only just another second or two), might help the overall flow too. 2. Having the mp3.com stuff all over the CD was kinda interesting too, but I guess that is the tradeoff for the duplication, etc. One other thing...(so maybe a 3) the song with the vocals "hits me" as "almost" out of place with the rest of the stuff. As great a song as it is, and the job that SluCie did singing, it "almost" seems out of context. Oh....and (4?)...did you get permission from Sting?

Now, I feel like an ass, because of such a negative post for such a FINE CD.

but, it does allow the opportunity for me to THANK YOU again

Very interesting topics Mix!

The cd can definitely use a master job to help it flow...
Yeah... me and sluices song doesnt fit into the groove of the cd, but I think the whole idea of this is to showcase the actual playing and creative level of the music. A good music professional will look past all the lower buget equiptment and listen to what they are trying to say.
I was not overly concerned with the overall quality of the album... I just want to get my voice out there...

...and I have contaced the stings publishing co. and filed the SR form with the US copyright office. for others musicians music.
I dont want to get sued already... that would be a bad start!

Me and sluices song isnt copyrightd' yet .... so nobody steal it

Thanks for your concerns

technically, it is... "officially"...no (or I suppose you could word it the other way around.)

I think you'd be able to prove its creation date, etc., without any troubles with all the people on this board anywazzz
