VS840 question

Hi folks,

I have a friend who bought a 840 used & it didn't come with a manual. Previous owner says it records 8 channels but we're not seeing that. It appears that some of the channels are "stereo". We're trying to determine if he can record 8 individual tracks to mixdown to another machine. Any advice?

No, the stereo tracks cannot be unlinked. As well, if the ZIP drive is 100 megs, you are likely only going to be able to get 8 track playback if you use MT2 mode.
