PA9 File Destinations

My audio drive fried so maxtor sent me a new one. I'm trying to write files on D to store audio/MIDIetc. as described in Cakewalk Power.

I managed to arrange this with the previous drive, but this time CW refuses to recognize the new files.

What I did is create the new files, then copy & paste the files from C to D.

I also rewrote the destinations in Global Options for everything to go to D.

But when I try to save that arrangement CW says no and renames all the files back to C drive.

Do I need to delete the files from C drive after copy/paste to D and eleminate those file paths? Is it possible to do thatin CW??

I know there was a trick to this from the last time because it took a few tries then as well.

Thanks.

Are you trying to write the .wav files, or the project files (.bun/.wrk)? It makes a difference.

If I recall in PA9, one of the defaults was located in Global Options, but the other was located in Options > Audio. If it's the .wav files, I believe you need to reset the default directory in Options > Audio.

(At least I think so. It's been a long time since I've used PA9 and I have very few brain cells remaining that still have any functionality. )
