Digitech Genesis 3 w/ Fostex MR-8?

Can anyone advise me if they are a good match (for direct recording). I also may want to record drum tracks from an external source along with the Genesis 3 Guitar processor.
the Genesis 3 is 24 bit vs. the Fostex MR-8 16 bit converter.
Any comments, opinions, tips (etc) would be greatly appreciated.

My Line6 POD and Korg Pandora worked fine. This is definitely the box to get if you have outboard gear already. The Tascam, Korg, Boss, and Zoom boxes have built in effects that you really don't need if you are using your own guitar effects. The MR-8 is really basic, but it sounds so much better than those other units.
