Yamaha AW16G, resetting time remain counter

Just bought an AW16 on the weekend. Sounds good, surprisingly easy to use, but:

I set the counter to "remain" to show how much time I had left in the Song.

I didn't find the "remain mode" very useful, as it only displays hours and minutes.

When I tried to switch the counter back to the normal "absolute time" mode, I found I couldn't!

Anyone experienced this bug, and/or found a way to fix it?

Yo Steverino:

I think you might want to check Dinsdale's site; he has it posted if you check out the threads on new equipment, etc.

I can't quite understand your question. I have the 2816 and it is similar to the AW16.

I have a counter that tells me how long a song is and when the song is finished, I have to push Rtz which resets the song back to the beginning, like rewinding the tape on a cassette only MUCH faster. Then, I have clock that shows me how much time remains on my hard drive, like ten hours or so.

So, maybe, you should recheck the manual or go to Dinsdales' new site for the AW16 and post your question.

On the AW16G, you can choose between various counter formats.

On of the choices is to have the counter act as a countdown timer, showing how much recording time you have left.

The other counter options all toggle- if you choose bars/beats/ticks, the "absolute time" mode is defeated.

The following morning, when I checked the situation with a clearer head (never try to do something new at 2am!), I realized that I had to click on the "remain" button again in order to turn the countdown feature off...

Silly me...
