How do you go about mic'ing the drums?

Where do you plug the microphone to etc, etc. I have a delta 66 and I hope to save up for some mic's in the near future. I'm thinking there's something more than just going from the mic directly to the delta 66 or maybe im just wrong?

You need a mixer or preamp to boost the mics up to line level. Then you can come out of the mixer into the Delta 66.
