I am ditching my adats. I have cakewalk pro audio 8 deluxe, a 20 gig hd, good preamps, mics, outboard gear, but what do i need as far as converters and/or interfaces to record at least 16 tracks at a time? What cards, i/o's, and software will i need and what are good prices. i might sell both adats to do so. I am also gigging new years eve and am making $600 so i am making a studio upgrade with that dough. As far as mixing, would i still need my board(16-2-8) or can i mix on that program with that ensoniq paris fader thing...I need help As you can see i am new to this....

might want to check out Frontier Design, specifically their Tango24 & Dakota combo. It offers 24bit, 8x8 recording, easy to upgrade (add another Tango24 to get 8 more channels, Montana & up to two more Tangos to get anoth 8 or sixteen). Their website is http://www.frontierdesign.com/

Good luck!
