Question What's the best power amp for the buck?

I'm looking to get a power amp to drive my monitors. What's the best bang for the buck, or should I go with a set of powered monitors?

I'm using an Art SLA-1 (studio linear amp) with my yorkville YSM-1i, provides tons of clean power, compact (1 rackspace) and sounds pretty flat to me. The only thing I have to complain about is that it has a fan, its pretty quiet, just enough to bug me when I'm trying to sleep.
