Which do you prefer: Mogami Gold Series or Monster Cable?

I'd like to hear from anyone who has an opinion on these brands, especially if you've used both.

Both are cool enough for me... But Mogami Quad takes it for me since it's 1/4 of the price of the top Monster.

That's in bulk, right? Where do I get Mogami Quad for that price? Also, can you use Mogami Quad as patch cable (to connect outboard hardware to a patch bay)? Don't laugh, I've never really looked into upgrading my cables from Hosa.

Nope! That's not bulk!

I mean check-out Full Compass:
http://64.213.162.194/catalog/catalo...connectors.pdf

On the first page, look at the price difference between pre-made Mogami Quad and pre-made Monster Studio-Pro!!!

Most stuff I buy is not really "bulk" per say. For example, just enough to solder-up 5-10 25' mic cables myself is worth it and will save me at least $10 per mic cable! If doing just 1 or 2, it's not really worth it to me... Would rather spend the extra few bucks and not have to deal with it!

I buy most cable and connectors from Full Compass, BTX, or Markertek. If I'm buying really true bulk cable, Professional Audio Design Inc.

And yeah, Quad works great for line-level gear too. I'd use it for that too, but at just under 3Xs the price of Mogami snake cable, I can forget about it for the amount of patchbay lines I will soon have!

RE, please respond to my question in the mic forum, if you get a chance. Thanks.

My mic cables are all Mogami and Canare, and my patch cables are all Mogami. You dont really need quad for patch cables, as its resistance isnt ideal and cancellation of line level noise isnt a big deal really.

If you're buying cables already made then I like the Horizon SilverFlex series. Great sound and light weight.

Mogami. It is cheaper and sounds better.
