Data Entryin Staff View

I'm using version 6:
Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but does anyone know of a keyboard key that I could press in combination with a mouse click to enter a note that is an accidental. That is- one key for sharp; one key for flat; maybe two more for double sharp and double flat; none for natural. Thus avoiding the extra steps involved in modifying the note properties once the note has been entered. This would greatly speed up direct entry of scores via the staff view. The piano roll view allows this without the keyboard (a chromatic scale enumerated) but I find the staff view easier to understand.
