Amps without Presence control
What do you all do when you want to add some presence when your amp (combo in my case) doesn't have a Presence control?
The sound is a little Marshall-ey now (well, it's a little Marshall) and I'm trying to squeeze a little more "twang" out of it. Any pedals that would be useful? BBE Sonic maximizer or something? Thanks. |

Isn't 'Presence' just high band EQ? Turning up the highs isn't working? What type of guitar are you using? Twang means you need a Tele

I use a Parker.
It's set to use the humbucker for the beefiness, mixed with the piezo for some twang. I'm trying for more twang/clarity but still plenty of beef ![]() I can get the beefy-twang sound I like out of my V-Amp (Marshall JCM800 preset) with the presence maxed out. I'm trying to see if I can get a similar sound out of my combo amp. I can pretty much dial in that dark/beefy Marshall sound I like. But the piezo's don't cut through like they do with the V-Amp. |
