static in my Darla

I'm having a weird problem: whenever I play back audio and access the hard drive, I get static that sounds very much like FM radio... I don't think it's a hardware problem, since it's only happened since I updated my drivers. Does anybody else have this problem? I'd like to take advantage of the features on the new drivers, but I don't want the static...
