The card reader connects to your computer by the USB port so that you can edit and/or store the programs/patches or whatever it is that you're saving onto the card.
Don't know about the other stuff. foo |

It has to be a smartmedia card as opposed to compact flash card, but there are a number of different brands, for example SanDisk is a brand that I have. For the Zoom MRS-4, it has to be a standard SmartMedia card designed for 3.3V with a capacity of 16-128 mb. See the manual for more details. You can do a google search to get lots more info.
In addition to purchasing online, places like Circuit City, Office Max, Staples, Walmart and Best Buy all sell smartmedia cards. Hope that helps. |

Also note, the 256mb smart media card is coming out *real* soon. Any "smart media" card that's 3.3v will work. To find the cheapest deal, just do an online search. I got a real deal on my cards through a computer weenie purchasing manager. I can't wait for the 256 meg card. That's 180 track minutes in high resolution on a Korg PXR4!-Richie
