Little Help...

I had posted this on down the page but it kinda got caught up in the star spamming thing... If I'm being a pest just let me know and I'll nuke the thread.

Any thoughts, good or bad.

The tune is "EveryBody" on

Thanks in advance

There are elements to this piece that I like. Some of the messages in it are touching. A good song for parents ("sit down with the kids and play some checkers..."), among others.

Overall level of the song is a bit quiet. Not sure about the sound of the acoustic guitar. It's got some high frequency sound going on that I don't really care for.

Some performance things... The harmonies you're using are interesting, but there is some pitchiness in many spots. There are also spots where they are out of sync (e.g., listen at 2:08 on the phrase "open your eyes"). At 2:30 the word "watch" seems to jump out a bit.

Keep it up... Trip.

ThankYou, ThankYou !!!

The tunes is basically being sung my me to me. I'm a shitty dad sometimes and I know it. The rest of it's just facing my fears.

I'll work on the parts you mentions and work harder on the guitar parts and the harmonies.

Thanks again
Dennis

Hey Dennis, liked your song man. Mix sounded pretty good I thought. TripleM covered most of the issues that I was thinking of too. I've been trying to do harmonies with my voice...but I really really suck at it . Nice to meet ya, where are you located in Miss.? I'm from Carthage..you know where that is?

Nice tune,I really liked the keyboard work, great.
Is that you on keys?

I dug the melody,sweet.
That tight strumming at 1:52 was really good, nice touch.

Tough being a dad,I know I feel that way more than I'd like too.
Long as you love em,right.

Thanks,
Pete

dtb: Thanks. I listen to your stuff all the time in the car. It's great !!!

David: Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate everything people say about my stuff. Yea, I'm from Brandon, it's a small town outside of Jackson. If your ever in town give me a hoot and we'll have a bite to eat !

Muzeman: Thanks... That's me on the keys. Using a Yamaha S80 for piano and the Native Instrument B4 for the organ sounds. I'm brand new at the guitar but I'm learning..

Thanks Again for all the kind comments and suggestions

Dennis

Hey Dennis....I'm in the Red Stick so when you're this way let me know.

A cool song. I like the chord structure, I like the vocal line and the harmonies, the words are cool....very nice all the way around. There are multiple pitch issues with the vox that need to be addressed and I agree with MMM about the sound of the acoustic. I think it needs more mids around the 800hz area. Not a lot, but a little bit.
Nice work!

Hey Rusty.....
Very nice song man...... has kind of a Bruce Hornsby vibe to it.
I really liked the lyrics. Yeah, the big difference in this will be made when you straighten out the pitch issues w/ the bg vocals.
Very nice song man... What are you using to record the acoustic guits?

nice stuff man,
g
