One more (hopefully last) Delta driver question

Well I got my Delta 44 installed and playing back (haven't tried recording yet). I upgraded to the 24 bit version of n-tracks. I am using Win 98 not 98SE.

In n-tracks when I go to Settings\Audio devices the WAVE devices box looks like this:

Audio playback devices:
M Audio Delta ASIO
MME: WaveOut 1/2 Delta-44
MME: WaveOut 3/4 Delta-44
MME: Wave Mapper

Audio recording devices:
M Audio Delta ASIO
MME:Mon. Mixer Delta-44
MME: PCM In 1/2 Delta-44
MME: PCM In 3/4 Delta-44
MME:Waver Mapper

If I sellect ASIO for both, which I think is correct, under recording settings the only option under "Bit" is "Force 16 bits".

If I sellect MME drivers, under recording settings under bits I get "16", "24", "24 unpacked", "24 unpacked left justified".

I thought ASIO drivers were better than MME. Shouldn't the 24 bit options be available with ASIO?

Thanks for everyones help.
