Are there any home recording or studio recording books out there that you recommend? Please reply and tell me.

As a student, I've read through a couple and one that I've kept is Modern Recording Techniques by Huber and Runstein. I think it's in its fifth edition now? Good if you REALLY need to have a resource that can take you from total noob to somewhat understanding fairly quickly...

Though I personally think some hard hours dedicated to internet searching will do as well...

Not to sound like a brown noser, this site is free and it'll probably teach you way more than any books for the basics. One great thing about this place is that you can get info on newer updated equipment super fast. some of the books I have still show the Alesis 3630 as their compressor example.
Stick around and you'll learn plenty.

I use this site every day to learn about the stuff, and I have learned so many things just in the last 4 months.

I'm just kind of a geek in where I like to read many different opinions and methods...

I agree! I have learned a ton at this site. Everyday there is something in here relative to what I am experiencing, and someone usually has asked the question for me. The archives are excellent, and the immediate answers to my specific situations are great too. There are some jerks on here, but they are few. This is the place to learn...

The two books I've got most from are:

The Tape Op book, edited by Larry Crane (great for hearing other's methods for making the most out of limited gear).

and

The Musician's Guide To Home Recording by McIan & Wichman. It's a little dated (only covers a little about digital recording), but in it's 300+ pages it covers all the basics of recording explained in easy to understand language.
