Akg D125, D190e

So a couple of days ago, these two mics just fell into my lap from a friend. They both work (or at least I have plugged them into my console and checked them out, and they SEEM to work).

What can I do with them? The D190E looks like a throwback from the 70's! Are these two mics good for anything?

Cheers,
Jimmy

Well, your're wrong, the D190e is a throwback to the 60's! Assuming they're in good condition, which is likely, you have a lovely pair of hypercardioid hand held dynamic mics which were cutting edge stage mics in their time. Good for anything you would use an SM-57/58 for, especially live stage vocals, guitar cabs, toms and snare.
The D125 was a standard vocal mic for me for 5 years. The D190 came in two versions, 190E (no switch), and ES (with switch). Use them in good health, they are just as good now as they were then, and can be found on the equipment lists of many older pro studios, especially the D125.-Richie
