Smile V67b-$89

If anyone's interested,I just got this months Sam Ash circular, they have the V67B on sale for $89.

Say's it's wired with Magomi,so I guess it's the same model Mars was blowing out a while back.
They had it as the 67M.

Look's the same.
Anybody know if it's the same as the 67G,except for color?

Didn't a couple of people buy the 67M last time around?
If so,how do you like it?

They said they have 22 in stock by me,I'll be getting one tommorrow!
I missed out last time.

Aren't I glad I got one last year, before all the talk made the price go up.

It sure seems like the only difference is the color. Can't see why they'd put the same model number on two different mics (?)

One weird thing is that Sam Ash still sells the V67G for $200.

The b stand for black. THere is absolutely no differance between the B, M, G, and I think there was another color. I wrote MXL and got a statement from them to this effect.

They are probably selling off all the v67B's cheap because everyone else wants the Green/Gold one like i got for ~$179......

the MXL website only shows the MXLv67G ......

Abes, where i bought mine, had choices of black, silver, or green/gold......

so i guess i didnt answer your question one bit but hey, my post count needs help......

Cool

love it....

of course that was going from a SM57......then, that took some getting used to because it picked up everything in the house....so i took to recording in a closet with some decent soundproofing but it made me sing real sterile, and i need ALL the help i can get...so im out of the closet and working on treating the room so i can do vocals out there.....

anywho, i think you already have a decent condenser??? so i dont think soundwise it will impress you that much.....but at $89 it can be a different flavor that is well worth every penny, and then some........

what mics do you have now?.....

I have a Dragonfly for vocals.

Great mic,but every recording I hear around here with the 67 has the same feel to it,woody and warm.
I really dig the simple acoustic stuff,so I'm looking foward to trying the 67.
Sounds kind of like a warmed up 4033!

I got 2 at the 89.00 price point. Only using 1 until I get a new pre, and love it. Like Gidge, I've been using a 57, so this mic really upgrades my recordings.

Your's was one of the great recordings I was talking about, dtb.

Just got home with it,havn't had a chance to try it yet,I guess eating is more important.
NOT!

I at least took it out of the box,man what a beauty!
Etched lettering and all.
Really heavy too, nice solid feel to it.
I'm very suprised at the craftsmanship of it.
Not what I expected at all!

I tried it out for about 20 minutes last night, only with headphones.
If it sounds half as good on the speakers,I'll be getting another one Monday.
I want to try it on acoustic, for a stereo pair.

I can always eat later!

The overall honesty of the participating members of the homerecording.com members is astounding! The talk about "coming out of the closet" is trippy! Are we all "closet" vocalists? Who invented the closet? Was he/she a singer? Will these questions ever be answered? You guys are too much! This place and it's inhabitants is the best!
