XLR adapters - Home Recording

Do these adapters add noise to recordings on the VS880EX? What's my best option on getting a good mic sound? I don't have lots of bucks for a mic, so I'll probably do as follows:

1) Buy tube preamp
2) Plug mic into TP
3) Run TP into Roland and use mic simulation?
