I've heard it's possible to control the transport controls (Zero, Rew, FF, Stop, Play, Rec) of the vs880 using MMC. I'd like to hook up all the MIDI crap I've got built into my gear and make use of this feature, as it's hard to run across the room everytime I want to hit Stop, Rew, Record.

Anyone have MIDI experience controlling things like this?

Thanks for any advice.

Ok, I'll give my own question a shot, and add some more to it.

I've learned that this is possible, and not difficult to do control from the PC, using Cakewalk or similar software. Same with a MIDI capable keyboard. I've also learned that controlling something via MMC from a set of electronic drums isn't the easiest thing to do, unless one of the drum pads is dedicated to this function.

Looks like now I just need to try this and see what happens. Anyone ever controlled ANY separate MIDI device from a set of electronic drums or a drum machine before?
