Tuning an ARP Axxe
Hello all,
I just picked up an ARP Axxe for $100. The seller said it needed tuning and cleaning (and the 'random' switch needed replacing, but he said that it didn't otherwise interfere with the operation of the unit). Eventually I'll get the switch fixed, but I'd rather not pay someone to do the tuning and cleaning if I can do it myself. What is involved in tuning one of these guys? Is there anything to cleaning other than blowing it out with canned air and putting cleaner in the sliders? --- David Vesel -- electro recording artist The current single is "Numb" from the album Calliope On Ampcast / Situation Records http://www.ampcast.com/davidvesel davidvesel@pobox.com

You may have to scrape the J-wires.
I'm not sure I get "tuning" - you can do that yourself from the front panel, unless there's something really wrong internally that's throwing it out. Of all the gear I ever sold, I miss my Axxe the most... |
