How to insert Alien Connection ReValver?

I couldn't get the Revalver to work. First, I inserted a new Audio track. Audio IN worked fine. But when I inserted the revalver in Fx bin the audio signal disappeared. What am I missing? Thanks.

Input monitoring must be on to hear the effect.

Go to options/audio/input monitoring and activate the input driver.

I haven't messed with it much, but I don't have input monitoring enabled, and it works fine like any other DX plug in. The "Input Drive" knob on the Pre 9 preamp module works backwards, in other words turn it COUNTER clockwise to increase volume. I just fired mine up, with the knob all the way clockwise ( dimed ) I had no sound. I'm sure you already checked the IN / OUT volumes at the top of the thing. I think Revalver is more complicated to use than it needs to be with all the modules and volume knobs etc. , and it is very easy to get absolutely awful sounds out of it. I don't know why they didn't make the interface more like a POD or J Station where you choose from a menu of amps / speakers then tweak the controls, kind of like real amps since guys who use amps already know how to operate them.

Also, are you sure you have enough modules in there? I guess if you did not have say, a preamp selected it might not work...

That may be why... I can't test it at the moment but thanks a lot.

So you're saying input monitoring doen't have to be turned on? Hmmm... I'm confused now. Also, I did mess around with all the knobs a bit.

I had had problems getting it to work as well, but then it did work. I can't check now, but will report back. I think it also depends on how you want to use it, as a real time dxi (input monitoring) or as an effect applied to a pre-recorded track. I could be talking smack though.

If you want to use Revalver for tracking you must have input monitoring enabled!
If you're not sure about the settings you messed with load a preset from the load menu.

Acidrock, when you say tracking, I guess you mean like real-time processing of the guitar signal before its recorded, and monitor the processed sound? Is that what you are trying to do 4ever ? I've never tried that, but if you record the dry unprocessed guitar signal, and then use the revalver to process the signal on playback you can tweak the sound to your hearts content, until you are satisfied with how it sits in the mix, otherwise you're stuck with the sound that's recorded. Anyway I was assuming that you were applying the effect to a recorded signal... let us know

When tracking with Revalver the effect does not print to the track,that's part of what's so cool about it.
You can change the sound afterward and the track is "dry".
Add to that the fact that you can run multiple instances of it (depending upon your computers resources)and it's a great tool.
