Lightbulb Kustom

Musician's friend is having a mad sale on Kustom bass amps, I need a cheap one for studio purposes possibly kustom KBA30. Anyone have a kustom amp? Is it any good for the money? It's either that or a crate BX15.

I played one when I was shopping for a bass practice amp. I didn't like the sound at all, went with the vox T-25.

The old Kustom stuff in the 70's was all solid state. Some of the new stuff is all tube. A guy came into my studio I had last year with a 50W Kustom head that was all tube, and used a 2x12 Kustom cabinet with it. They were these newer reissues or whatever they are calling them. He plugged straight in, no fx, and that amp sounded really great. A VERY classic rock tone, which was what he was going for.

By the way, they're being made by St Louis Music now. Same as Ampeg.
