Reverb effect when stretching clip

Hey Ya'll,

I am trying to make a fast tom fill fit into a slower groove. I have a 1 measure tom fill that is recorded into Sonar XL from a drum loop CD. My song is at 100 Bps and the speed of the drum groove is 84 Bps. The tom fill is at 96 Bps. The measure has 4 tom hits.

I have opened the clip in the Groove loop window and select 100% transient detection. It does not detect the first hit in the fill so I manually create the first one. There are 4 markers total. I set the Tempo at 100Bps and use eighth note increments. I stretch enable the clip and change the tempo in the clips window during the tom fill down to 77Bps. The clip sounds great tempo wise, but I get a reverb effect on the tom fill.

What should I try.

Thanks in advance.

Carl
