Wavelab

I have previously extolled the virtues of Wavelab in this forum for use in conjunction with Sonar. I think they are great companion products. Wavelab can be used to master projects done in Sonar and for CD burning. It is also a handy wave editor. However, many have correctly pointed out that the $449 price on Wavelab 4.0 is a bit < choke, cough > on the steep side.

FYI, I just saw that Sam Ash has a closeout on Wavelab 3.0 for $149.00. I have used both Wavelab 3.0 and 4.0, and while 4.0 is better, 3.0 is no slouch. If anyone was thinking of getting this but didn't because of the price, you might want to consider picking up 3.0.

Also, if you were thinking about getting 4.0, you can buy 3.0 for the $149.00 price, and then buy an upgrade from Steinberg for $99. So you get Wavelab 4.0 for $250.00 and save yourself $200.

Thank you daych, I really wanted to know that I overpaid for my copy.

Good job I have a sense of humour But you are right, Wavelab is a stunning piece of software, nearly makes my music sound almost listenable Come to think of it, it was you that pursuaded me to buy it some months back. Why don't stores ever offer you a discount when you need it?

Not to worry. I don't think there is a Sam Ash store in your small village in Leicestershire, UK, anyway.

Dachay, I got my Mom and Dad to bring me back a copy from the US where they live for a few months each year. That way I don't pay import duty into the UK, nor freight nor the distributors mark up and the local stockist's mark-up too Got my Waves Gold Bundle the same way. Looking to buy a Taylor 310 next time but my Mom says she won't be able to put that in her purse as a carry on

Teacher, Import duty of 10-15% has to be paid on all incoming packages plus 17.5% VAT (Purchase Tax). With freight costs as well thats a tidy sum of money over the normal US price.

Try this -

1. Order the product
2. Two days later ring and report it faulty
3. Manufacturer generates RMA number
4. Product is sent to you as a RETURN not as a SALE item
5. Therefore the declared cost is $0
6. Therefore GST or VAT is XX% of $0

Worked for me!

Q.
