Question Trident pre's?

Anyone know about the trident series 24 mixer, or its mic pre's?
I might have found a console at a good price, and it's cheaper than buying a whole rack of vintage pre's.

Thanks,
Sponge Bob

But be ready to spend a lot on getting them back in shape, there
is a big maintenance issue here.
They are supposed to be ok, Jim Williams at Audio Upgrades probably has some cool mods for them too

Hey Sponge Bob,
I know what you mean about the expense of buying a load of vintage pre's. But depending on what your doing, you might not always want that warm fuzzy sound. Too much warmth makes for mud. I know Tridents are highly aclaimed boards, and if it's a sweet deal, it's way better than a mackie or equivalent anyday. Are you recording to HD? Might actually sound great, but go hear it first. I've heard Neve pre's & clones before, and while I like the sound of vintage warmth, I can't help but try to imagine 24 trks of warm mud. I personally like the idea of a rack of different pre's just for different options. My 2 cents. If you get it, I'd love to hear all about it. How much does something like this Trident go for?

Kirk out.
