AT40/50 & Martin

First acoustic post, the stream sounds like i'm singing in a drum. Not to worried about that though, just want some feedback on the acoustic tones..http://www.nowhereradio.com/david/singles the song is called "send all the roses"

The acoustic sounds excellent!
What Martin is it?

I especially liked the lead sound, very sweet.

I know you only wanted guitar comments but just wanted to say,
I thought this was a very well written song.
And your vocal delivery is great.
If your singing in a drum,it must be Pearl!

Actually, I like the reverb on your vocal a lot... I think rolling off some of the lows on your vocal would get rid of that "drum" sound that's buggin' ya', but it's not bothering me at all. You've got a great voice, and you're using actual dynamics when you sing... very cool SONG too. This is so different from "Out To Hurt Me." Obviously, a different singer. Your voice is great.

As for the guitars, you're the one who needs to be dispensing advice. Those sound friggin' GREAT. You've got some timing issues as the very beginning, and just a couple of other places, but the tune's so good, I didn't notice 'em after the 3rd listen.

Can you tell me how you're EQ'ing the gits...My Martin's a boomy S.O.B., and I'd be willing to bet you've got the same problem, but you sure dealt with it better than I do.

Thanks,
Chris

Better thank some people for their time..

rushfan33..thanks for checking it out and the kind coments!

Kramer..Thanks dude!

muzeman..Glad you liked it, the martin is a D35 that i used to own & sold it to a friend like a fool . But I use it when i need to, so that aint to bad..i guess. thanks for the listen!

chrisharris..I'll try taking some low's off the vox and see if that'll help. I'm the worlds worst when it comes to "reverb", I find myself using it to much as a crutch.
As far as EQ'ing the gtrs, no seceret here, pretty much straight up the clock. I sold this guitar couple years back, and the guy (blue grass picker) took it and had the braces shaved a bit, and it sounds ten fold better than it did. Thanks for checking it out!

B.SABBATH..Thanks for checking the tune out!

Thanks a bunch guy's...little history about this tune...in two more weeks this tune will be twenty one years old! I know...it sounds like it Thanks!

Hey! This is Jaimee. I don't know much about the whole recording nitpicking thing, cuz my dad handles that. Anyways, cool tune. !!

I know this is labeled "country", but I think this one really crosses over the boundries implied by that term. I'll just call this "good" music.

The Martin sounds sweet.

jaimee... ...I'm so glad you liked my song, I thought your tune was great also. And also don't worry to much about the "nitpicking" a recording, takes to much time away from the main thing...making music! You go girl!

George...Thanks for checking it out!

twist...Yeah I know it isn't "real country" just maybe closer to that vein of music i guess. Thanks for the kind words!

powderfinger...Hey thanks man, the mic is an audio tech 40/50, the only one i used...only one I got . Thanks guy!

Very nice, David. You have an interesting voice. The guitar(s) sound absolutely great. The vocal, however, could use a tad more clarity. My guess is that it's the mic. However, it doesn't detract from listening at all. Quite nice.

nice sounds.. the extreme panning on the gtrs might be a little weird to some, and the vocals seem a little off to the right side too.

Very nice performance... both vocs and guits... "Lay me over... in Houston"... nice double-meaning This reminds me of aspens high in the mountains with the sun shimmering thru 'em... guits sound expensive AT4050 sounds like it performed well on the recording. Just two different mono guitar tracks?

Yeah... mixmkr may have something on the panning... it's a little weird in the center... because of the hard panning... maybe 9'oclock & 3 would work too? This song is radio quality tho, D. Nice job.

Great tune. I have a D-41 and I can testify that all Dreadnaughts are a ear to record. The guitar timber would sit well in a mix of a full band (drums, bass, etc.) I would think. The only knocks I'd give you is I hear the pick stricking the top of the guitar face in a few spots during the leads. I only point it out because the rest of the tune sounds so good, it makes them stand out even more. Very good job.

Real pretty, sweet song. Nice sounding guitar and I like your singing voice. A real nice guitar part too.

If it were me, I wouldn't go quite as heavy on the reverb on the vocals. To me that would make it a more intimate song (which to my ear is what it should be). The vocals could be brought up just a bit too.

Good job.
