Alternate Cubasis manuals

2 questions.
First what is the advantage of recording in wav. form?
secondly, are there other manuals for cubasis VST, I have version 3.7 and I have a hard time with the manual, it is way advanced compared with me in computer tech. When I was born nearly 60 years back even multi track tapes didn't exist.
I eventually get there but usually by help from this column which has proved more use than the manual.Any answers?

FWIW, in 5.1 and SX, there is a PDF manual in the Cubase directory.

I used to use 3.7, but can't remember if it had a soft manual. You may want to look in the directory.

If your program came with a "getting started" manual and some tutorials, do the tutorials. They will really help you get the basics learned and you can see what the program does. At that point the manual should be making more sense. Don't try reading it from the beginning. Pick what your most perplexed about and look it up in the index and start there.

And most of all: play, play, play with Cubase.

Bassmaster,
No it just came with the book, a friend of mine got cubasis a couple of weeks after me, he got version 5.0 so I guess I got unloaded with old stock.
An often heard complaint is that if theres no sale involved the shop loses interest rapidly, I guess you are refering to a cd rom manual or something off the internet on getting started?
Clive

I have used Cubase VST32 and SX, but not Cubasis so I wasn't sure what materials you are supplied with.

In VST and SX you get the CD and a book called "Getting Started", then on the CD is the full manual. In the "Getting Started" manual they take you through some tutorials where they walk you through some of the stuff that Cubase can do so you get an idea of all the things it can do.

Then when your done with the tutorials, your all alone in the dark cruel world of recording with nothing but the PDF manual on the CD. Thanks Steinberg!
