asiomme dll

now this is downright annoying...i'm running cubase vst on win xp pro and when i try to set up all the audio business, i get a message saying
asiomme.dll cannot be loaded.
i've found the very file in the asio folder but can't work out what the devil i'm doing wrong...
i know i'm only using a soundblaster, but that shouldn't be the problem...should it?

Try a Format C: and a fresh cubase install
Just upgrading from 98/ME to XP does not work for cubase as the install is different for XP.

You may get away with uninstalling Cubase and removing all references in the registry followed by an install from an original cubase disk but the only sure way is a fresh install

Go to www.musicxp.net and make sure your system is optimized if you havn't already done that.

Then I would go to www.cubase.net and do a search on that filename. If anyone else had had a problem with the same file it will yank up every thread that it was mentioned in.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

cheers chaps,
i've been back and forth to cubase.net but it seems i'm the only one with such a problem (i knew i was special ) so i thought
'why not try cubase with win 98?'
and thats where i struck a new problem all together. it seems to me that winxp is completely impossible to uninstall!
