good cables i can make for guitar/amp/pedals

After reading about the mic cables and the great suggestions there, I decided to ask some good suggestions for great brands for guitar to amp to pedals and so on cables,

what are some geat brands that I can look into buying to roll my own and save some money on it,

sound quality is of course top priority,
