any good preamps with phantom power???
welp i heard bheringer sucks (the mixers) so now im trying to get a good preamp for max 150 with phantom power...........any one got suggestions..........help please

you can do a lot with a behringer (even though i don't like them).
my buddy steve beckett uses one at his house. he's lucky he knows me for the mixing part. here's a song where he used a little behringer mixer to track the vocals and the bass... http://www.piemusic.com/sb/purge.mp3 the audio buddy at $69 from www.j&r.com has adequate phantom power. it functions solidly as a mic preamp and even better as a DI. the used m-audio dmp2 or dmp3 is a great suggestion. steve www.piemusic.com Last edited by ozraves; 09-30-2002 at 22:39.. |

how much would all the wiires and shit cost......if i get hella good wire (dunno wich brands are good).........from the mic to the preamp and the preamp to the comp?? |

Wait!!
Now before you go and do anything rash, you really should check out the PreSonus Blue Tube. It's a pretty astoundingly good 2 ch. tube preamp for the price, which is easily within your budget (no more than about 150-170). It warms up digital tracks nicely and supplies 48v of phantom.
