I'm planning on going to the AES convention in L.A. in October.
If I hear anything new, I'll post it here.

i hope this all works out for stephen paul. he's got some incredibly high standards and it'll be a challenge for alan hyatt to deliver. so far, alan's track record seems pretty good so i doubt he's sweating much.

anyone think the gas on this is going to exceed the fmr rnp?

Alan Hyatt does not have to "deliver" on the Stephen Paul mic. He is simply paving the way for Stephen to deliver on the mic.

The mic is a work of art, by the way.

Yerp!

I was hoping it to be more like $1300 or something (makes it a bit easier when buying a pair), but you certainly won't hear anything from me if it's $1500!!!

Why not? We were given foreknowledge of the current mic. You didn't think I was suggesting that Alan post Stephen's actual blue prints did you?

Cool,

That's what I like hearing. So you're the one who's gotten a peak.

So it's something that will have to be clandestine until it hits the street?

If it's something that is Godzilla like, I hope it's something he can get a patent on and subsequently thumb his nose at all the manufacturers who have tried to steal his designs over the years.

alan, someone else mentioned a pair of SD condensors? is this in the plan for SP?

I was thinking a pair that hit the 5-600 dollar price point would be cool...

something that bridged the gap between something like the NT5s, and the KM184s..

If it comes from Stephen you can bet it's not going to be be building any bridges. It will be in a class by itself.

Taylor,

There are three pattern mic planned, sub micron models that will be available, but all in time. The Stephen Paul range will also look at very high end electronics as well, so we have our minds open and will have more stuff coming.
