Possible Studio...tips???

Hey all,

I have a friend who wants to build a recording studio underneath his house. Its a double garage and we are going to halve it and use the one half as the studio/Practice room.

I'm not sure on demensions or specifics yet - but as this is the first recording studio he (or I) Have built I was just wondering about.......
- some of the "Basics" that definitely must be included.

- Best designs for a rectangular room

- What soundproofing would be necessary and how effective it is

- other things that would make a much more professional studio
(Assuming cost is not an issue )

If anybody has the time or will to give us some hints , they would be greatly appreciated.

Yiord........

Some details of dimensions,(LxWxH), type of construction and materials (existing), some idea of what you think your budget may be, whether there are other residences close by, what gear do you have or plan to have, what exactly you plan to be doing in said studio, etc., etc.

All these things would be handy to know if you want specific advice.
