Cool anyone know of online classes/courses for recording

I really want to get my recording skills down, I checked out several peoples home recordings from this site and was very impressed. So i am trying to learn the tips/tricks and everything else inside out. i realize that practice is the best way to learn it so Im currently experimenting with different mic positions ext,

so does anyone know of a great informative site with walk throughs and tuturials???

Don't know of anything like that except this place. With a little patience, some modest gear and a lot of reading and talking here, just about the best school I can think of outside of doing an internship with Roger Nichols.

I have some articles you can read with a walk through process with audio samples.

I've been thinking and even tried something of the sort but as its not really a business, It's close to impossible to actully get it to work over the web. It would take a long time to get a lot done and for me to hear samples at the moment isnt very practicable
as I have a dail up and no way to transfer files from my internet computer to a good monitoring system.

I do want to still try and work out as a starter a drum mixing clinic.
I started and never finished it. I am going to try to do it for the fun of it as soon as I get some free time hopefully that will be soon.
Meanwhile if you want to play around with the 8 drum tracks I have recorded for this clinic, you can DL them at the same site above under "drum clinic" and have fun with them.

www.artistpro.com
They have a few online courses. I get the impression that the online lessons are fairly similar (perhaps a little skimmed-down) versions of the material they have in their printed books. They're pretty good for getting some fundamentals. You have to sign up for a username, but it doesn't cost anything. But honestly, I've learned more from this BBS than any other website. They also have some articles, reviews and discussion forums that are pretty good as well.

Might also try www.prosoundweb.com. It's another good BBS. The conversations tend to be very technical and along the professional lines...IE: Not really a good place to be posting as a newibe. But it's very informative. If I can't find an answer here, I check there....I just don't post.

Hope that helps.

great articles - slow server, but that article on compression is nice, and the reverb article is reading really well too.

no point to my post except to say thanks for dropping the link here.
