Smile Blue Bear - HELP!

I have this problem with my mixes. They have too much bass rumble!

Do I need a HIGHER compression level? Right now I am compressing at about 6:1 with a fast attack and release.

But all my mixes just have too much rumble!

What would be a good place to start shaving this under lying boom. It makes my speakers flutter. I try my mixes in the car, boom box and home theater.

Everything else I have worked out. The mix sounds warm, clear and sparkly. Just that boom boom rumble at the bottom!

I really need some help here, my deadline for my demo is almost due and I need it done!

More compression would only make the problem MORE obvious....

Can you post a clip to show what you mean? (It's hard to figure out that kind of issue without hearing the problem!)

Without actually hearing it, you could try a simple lo-cut filter (or EQ plug-in, set below 50hz)

Here is a clip

Ok Here is a small clip, it's this one section that just flutters all the systems I try it on.

You just can't get much volume on it or will "bass out"

Am I making too much of this?

This is a clip of the original mix, nothing has been done to it.

Use the lo-cut filter.... according to my SA, you do have unnecessary low rumble there that will eat into your headroom....

Start the lo-cut at 60 Hz and work your way down towards 20 Hz until the rumble is gone but your music content is where you want it....

Sound like you've got a ground loop somewhere in your recording chain, or you're picking up low-frequency vibrations from mic'd sources (or a bit of both!)
