Question Canīt hear multiple tracks after recording

Hi, Iīm a newbie in midi musikmaking and i just bought a Yamaha CS1X. I have hooked up my cs1x to the gameport of my computer and iīm using cakewalk as sequencer. I have no problem recording a single track using cs1x internal sounds, but when i record multiple tracks i canīt hear them. I can only hear the first one, though i set the tracks to different channels. If i change the recive/transmit channels on the synth iīm able to hear the different channels but also only one at a time.

When i play songs that other people made on their cs1x it works fine, but when i do my own it doesnīt work

If anyone has an answer, iīd appriciate it. Or maybe a link to a guide or faq that deals with my problem.

thanks in advance!

How many inputs do you have? If you only have 2 inputs then you'll only be able to record one track at a time. Unless, you pan one track fully to the left and another track fully to the right you could get 2 tracks into the computer at a time, but they will be/and will have to be mono.

You are probably better off just recording one track at a time.

He says he's hooked it up to the gameport, so that must mean he's recording MIDI tracks.

Each track has to be sending MIDI messages on just one channel -- sounds like that's your problem.
