Looking very good Kevin. What type of wood are you using for the slats in your diffuser? --looks really nice. Thanks for the pics.

Alex - the diffuser is made of Brazilian Cherry. A few years ago, I ordered some to do a border in the floor in a room upstairs. The lumber yard delivered too much but not enough to doanything else with. I'd been tripping over it since then and thought it would be a great use for it.

Kevin, some good-looking stuff there - I'm scheming on an upstairs studio over a garage/shop, but couldn't quite read the dimensions on your overall drawing. What are the outside dim's of your complete studio area? I'm planning on 36' x 48' outside dims, and your stairwell caught my eye. Would your setup fit inside that footprint? thanks... Steve

Knightfly - Thanks! The inside dimensions of the foundation are roughly 36x24.

I'm not sure about horse mat... it was sold at Home Depot as "anti fatigue" mat. It came in 2ft sq sections that could be linked together. I cut up squares out of it and glued it to the sleepers with contact cement. It worked great, very stable.

Ceiling

Hello Longsoughtfor,

Your studio looks GREAT!!!!! I had a question for you regarding the ceiling, I saw pictures of you putting up some Sound stuff on the ceiling, what is it, where did you get it, and what does it cost? Is this more efficient tha RC1 for sound proofing?

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks again everyone. I'll post some more pictures after this weekend.

Jeff - I am putting this stuff called Sound Stop by Celotex in between the Resilient Channels. It is a fiber board that I got at Home Depot it is about $6 for an 4x8 sheet.

John - Will do on the PDF, I just want to do some edits... its funny, no matter how much you plan, once you start nailing things down the improvising starts

Cheers
Kevin.
