Optical or Analog !!

i'm trying to decide... Will the drums sound better..

Going out of my Focusrite OctoPre thru the optical out into my 001 card optical on the computer .....OR........

Going out the 25 pin out of the OctoPre via the "Hosa Digital Multi-Track Snake Cable - 4m (8 Stereo 1/4 inch Metal to 25 Pin) (Model DTP804)"

Looking for a punchy/ clear sound, but don't want them sounding thin...... rock drums over loops for pop tunes... ANY help??
