i would like to know what everyone uses for there Computer/Laptop studio ...im look for a good synth program to add to my studio to add the effects to go over the beats

One word ...Cubase!

if your looking for soft synth's, there are many many VST instruments that you can choose from,. one thats really good is "Reaktor"...you can build your own synth from the ground up !

there are a number of effects plugin ins for cubase that you can use also

i have the SW1000XG soundcard connected to the Kenton Plugstation. i dont have any cards yet

MTV music generator is good for what you pay for. It gives you control over all the riffs with the riff editor.

I definately think you cant go wrong with cubase and acid, those are the two programs I use the most. Plus like they said on cubase and nuendo u get the vstI's thats are pretty good. You might want to check out Orion Pro too, its in the same genre as Reason and rebirth. Oh yeah for a real easy way to make beats and stuff, try the Ejay line of hip hop ejay 2 and street style ejay, they might work for ya.
